Leading with Compassion

Shaun Wallace, one of Lake Ave Recovery’s founding partners, had the honor of speaking at Net of Compassion’s Bread of Life Benefit at Clark University to share his story of hope and resilience. Net of compassion is a faith-based volunteer organization that brings vital support services to people struggling with substance use disorders and homelessness. Every weekend, Shaun joins other selfless volunteers with Net of Compassion to bring hot meals, clothing, mobile showers, and recovery support to the Worcester community.

Shaun is no stranger to hard times himself. Now almost seven years in recovery, he remembers a time when addiction and homelessness were all he knew. Shaun attributes a significant part of his recovery success to the community support he received when he was struggling, which drives his passion and commitment to Net of Compassion’s mission.

Having firsthand experience with addiction and recovery, Shaun strongly advocates for those who are unable to advocate for themselves and is committed to providing strength to the very same community that lifted him up when he was in need. Through his volunteer work with Net of Compassion, Shaun sets out to spread a message of courage, hope, and strength.
