About Mackenzie Thorne, MS
Mackenzie Thorne is a dedicated Substance Abuse Clinician at Lake Ave, bringing a compassionate, holistic approach to her work with individuals and groups. She holds a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Bay Path University and has a strong foundation in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), with over six years of experience working with autistic children and children with mental health in both school and in-home settings.
Her clinical journey began with her internship at Lake Ave, where she discovered a deep connection with the substance use population. What started as a quiet introduction evolved into confidently leading therapeutic groups, driven by a genuine desire to support individuals on their recovery journey. Her approach to care integrates the mind, body, and spirit, recognizing the importance of treating the whole person.
With experience working across diverse cultures and populations, Mackenzie brings cultural sensitivity, empathy, and a deep respect for each individual’s unique path. Outside of her clinical work, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her 4-year-old son, drawing inspiration and energy from nature and her role as a mother.
Her warmth, authenticity, and commitment to holistic healing continue to guide her practice and foster meaningful therapeutic relationships.
