About Brett Carpenter, MSW

Brett Carpenter, MSW, is a client-centered therapist with a passion for helping people with substance use disorders and co-occurring disorders.  He received his bachelor’s degree in social work as well as a master’s in Social Work from Anna Maria College. Brett has extensive experience working in the substance use disorder field. He has worked in various levels of care, ranging from detox to residential treatment and outpatient therapy settings.

Brett originally joined Lake Ave Recovery as an intern while in his second year of Anna Maria College’s Masters in Social Work Program. It has been gratifying to witness Brett grow into the confident clinical leader that he is today.

Brett believes that recovery is much more than removing substances and is a process of learning and implementing the skills to improve every aspect of one’s life. He is a strong advocate that recovery is attainable for all. Brett appreciates the holistic side of recovery as well and believes in treating the whole person- mind, body, and spirit.

Brett brings positive energy to the Lake Ave Recovery team, determined to change people’s lives through long-term recovery.
